Abstract
We show how to define the one-loop effective action for Majorana fermions coupled to external scalar and vector fields, and for Weyl fermions with Majorana mass terms. A new solution of the Wess-Zumino consistency conditions is thereby obtained, which vanishes automatically for subgroups in which the representation of the gauge group generators is real.
