Abstract

Major hepatic resections are often associated with significant blood loss, especially in children. Numerous techniques are available to minimize this blood loss, including inflow occlusion, ultrasonic dissectors, and topical hemostatic agents. We describe a novel technique for liver resection with the use of a Harmonic Scalpel.
