Abstract

We briefly describe the institutional and departmental precautions taken in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure physical distancing and how it is already impacting on newborn care services. As a treatment center, the facility is undergoing decongestion and clients are advised not to visit the hospital unless it is really necessary. Our weekly specialist outpatient clinic where an average of 40 high risk neonates including babies born preterm, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, severe jaundice and congenital anomalies are reviewed has been suspended.
