Self-awareness and education are essential tools for determining the differences between the professional–patient/client relationship and nonprofessional relationships, as is an active understanding of the Code of Ethics for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession, which was updated in June 2018 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) and its credentialing agency, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
