Abstract
The main trends in the development of technology for the production of small sections and wire rods in world practice are considered. Information on the development of technology and equipment for combining of plastic and heat treatment of metal in the mill flow, on the use of housingless unstressed stands in small-section production and high-speed reducing and sizing units in the tail section of modern small-section and wire mills, the use of tungsten carbide mill rolls are presented. Information on the implementation of advanced trends in the development of modern small-section production at mill 350 of the Abinsk Electrometallurgical Plant is given.
