Abstract

1. Scientifically based parameters for torpedoing long-term frozen rocks with blasting charges, and a knowledge of the stress-strain state of the frozen rock mass above the worked-out area, can be obtained by mathematical simulation. 2. Comparison of the theoretical results and operating experience under full-scale conditions has confirmed the reliability of the main results. 3. The need to take measures to control the geomechanical conditions at the worked-out face during torpedoing, and to avoid dangerous systems of operating the mechanized props, is clearly necessary.
