Abstract

Magnon and phonon dispersion relations in a ferromagnet MnSb of NiAs-type crystal structure are measured using neutron spectroscopy. The results are compared with the recent calculation of magnon dispersion based on the spin fluctuation theory. The magnitude of the exchange interaction between neighboring magnetic atoms is obtained as the ratio of the interaction. Phonon dispersion of MnSb shows that there is tendency of the crystal transformation to MnP-type structure.
