Abstract

Over the last dozen years, various NBI classifications for colorectal lesions have been proposed worldwide. Eventually, they were unified as the NBI International Colorectal Endoscopic (NICE) for non-magnifying endoscopy in 2009 and the Japan NBI Expert Team (JNET) classification for magnifying endoscopy in 2014. These two classifications are compatible with each other as they both consist of three major categories predictive of same histology. Provided that magnifying endoscopy is available, the JNET classification is more advanced on selecting an appropriate treatment strategy based on precise diagnosis.
