Abstract

The preferential direction of grain growth and magnetostriction of Dy 0.6Tb 0.3Pr 0.1(Fe 0.95Mn 0.05) x alloys (1.80 ≤ × ≤ 1.95) prepared by the Czochralski method have been investigated. It was found that these alloys are essentially single phase with cubic Laves structure, and the preferential orientation in these samples is not perfect. The magnetostriction along the growth direction of these samples has been assessed.
