Abstract

In former papers on magnetostriction, systems with position-independent magnetization have been considered. In such systems there are elastic (magnetostrictive) strains. In the present paper, systems with position-dependent magnetization are discussed. In these systems there are in addition to the elastic strains also local rotations of the structure. The well-established theory of magnetostriction in systems with position-independent magnetizations is thus extended to systems with position-dependent magnetization.
