Abstract

Magnetostriction measurements have been performed at various temperatures on superconducting MgB 2 using the three-terminal capacitance technique in magnetic fields up to 12 T. The obtained results were analyzed in the framework of the pinning-induced model of magnetostriction. The performed scaling analysis of the obtained experimental data suggests that the pinning mechanism responsible for the magnetostriction in MgB 2 is unique over a broad temperature region below the critical temperature.
