Abstract
Reflection of magnetostatic surface wave (MSSW) from a metal half-plane on the surface of an yttrium iron garnet (YIG) film grown on a gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) substrate is investigated using the full Maxwell's equations. The GGG substrate is backed with a ground plane. The problem is analyzed by a numerical technique. It is found that the reflectivity of MSSW depends greatly on the spacing between the YIG film and the ground plane. The total reflection occurs near a lower cut-off frequency. Dependence of the frequency range of the total reflection on the ratio of the thickness of YIG film to that of GGG substrate is investigated
