Abstract

The frequencies and spin configuration of magnetostatic modes in an infinite film perpendicularly magnetized are calculated using circular-cylindrical coordinates, and the results are applied to finite circular disks. Dillon's observation that the first resonance in an imperfect disk was a single line, the second a double line, etc., is explained.
