Abstract

The influence of the magnetostatic interaction on the hysteresis loop is studied. To this end clusters of N magnetic particles in an infinite sample are considered taking into account the interaction between all particles of the cluster and neglecting all other interaction contributions. The magnetic hardness of a single particle is described by its coercivity field being distributed with a parabolic distribution function. With these assumptions the problem can be solved analytically. The calculations give the shape of the resulting hysteresis loop and information on the occurence of interaction domains in certain clusters.
