Abstract

Magnetic coupling energy in double layered ferromagnetic film is calculated, based on the assumption that the coupling comes from the Coulomb interaction between the magnetic charges appearing at the peripheries of the ferromagnetic layers. The coupling energy Esint is given as: Esint=2πM2D2R{ln \\frac{8R}{D+t}-2}cos 2φ where M is the saturation magnetization, D and R are the thickness and the radius of the ferromagnetic layers respectively, t is the thickness of the intermediate non-magnetic layer, and 2φ is the angle between the directions of upper and lower magnetization. The result is in good agreement with our previous experiment.
