Abstract

The dependence of magnetoresistivity (MR) on the temperature and the magnetic field for Ce 1– x La x Cu 4Al (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6) compounds has been investigated. In the low temperature region, magnetoresistivity exhibits a negative magnetic field dependence due to the Kondo effect. Magnetoresistivity measurements on the Ce 1– x La x Cu 4Al alloys are analyzed basing on the calculations by Schlottmann for the Bethe- ansatz in the frames of the Coqblin–Schrieffer model. The analysis yields the values of the Kondo temperature T K and effective moment of the Kondo ion μ K.
