Abstract

Magnetoresistance above T c have been measured on a c-axis oriented HoBa 2Cu 3O 7 superconducting thin film in magnetic fields up to 90 k0e using a dc four-probe technique. Above and close to T c, the magnetoresistance data are in quantitative agreement with the theoretical predictions for the fluctuation-induced conductivity. From an analysis of the experimental data based upon the orbital Aslamazov-Larkin (ALO) and Maki-Thompson (MTO) terms, the values ξ c = (2.3 ± 0.1) A ̊ , ξ ab = (12 ± 1) A ̊ and τ φ = (4.0 ± 0.4)×10 −13 s are obtained for the out-of-plane coherence length, in-plane coherence length and the phase-breaking time, respectively.
