Abstract

A quantum well wire system with lateral parabolic confinement, under an intense terahertz radiation and a uniform quantizing magnetic field is considered. The exact electronic states of the system are determined by constructing unitary transformations. Then, by obtaining the response of the system to a weak probing potential, the dielectric function and the magnetoplasma modes of the system are calculated in the framework of RPA theory. Results indicate roton-like behaviour for the plasmon modes of the system.
