Abstract
We present the recent results of the magneto-optical spectroscopy of low-dimensional excitons in quantum wells (QWs), short period superlattices, quantum wires (QWRs) and quantum dots (QDs) in pulsed high magnetic fields produced by three different techniques, electromagnetic flux compression, the single-turn coil technique and non-destructive long pulse magnets. The topics include the exciton spectra in GaAs/AlAs multi-QWs under ultrahigh magnetic fields up to 450 T, the field induced type I–type II transition in GaAs/AlAs short period superlattices, the diamagnetic shift and the coupling of quasi-1-dimensional excitons between QWRs grown at the giant steps in vicinal planes of GaAs/AlAs QWs, and the diamagnetic shift of excitons in QDs confined in tetrahedral shaped recesses (TSRs).
