Abstract

Magnetoimpedance (MI) effect has been investigated in stress annealed nanocrystalline FeZrNbB ribbons with slightly negative magnetostriction constants. The results indicate that annealing conditions, induced anisotropy and saturation magnetostriction are critical factors to the behaviour of MI effect. MI ratio of 480% was obtained for the Fe 88.02Zr 4.69Nb 2.31B 4.98 ribbon annealed at 873 K with a tensile stress of 52 MPa.
