Abstract

AbstractA phenomenon known as Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI) is attracting interest both for its technological applications in magnetic field sensors and for its physical basis. In this paper, a review of GMI is presented: first, a brief description of the main characteristics of GMI is discussed, an overview of the main applications is presented, and finally, an interpretation of the physical basis underpinning GMI is proposed
