Abstract

Magnetoelectric (ME) Ni–Pb(Zr,Ti) O 3 –Ni trilayers have been prepared by electroless deposition. Scanning electron microscopy reveals that the Ni layers are in direct contact with the PZT layer. The ME voltage coefficient was measured by applying both constant ( H D C ) and alternating ( δ H ) magnetic fields parallel to the length direction of the sample. It is shown that the trilayers exhibit a strong H D C dependence of the ME coefficient and a strong ME coupling at resonance frequency. The value of the ME coefficient increases as the Ni layer thickness increases.
