Abstract

Changes in the domain structure of epitaxial bismuth-substituted iron-garnet films under joint action of AC electric field and DC magnetic field are investigated by the optical polarimetry method. Garnet films exhibit electric field dependent magnetic properties, which have been measured as a function of the applied magnetic field oriented in the plane of the film. The investigations have revealed that the electric field practically does not modify the film magnetization magnitude and the registered magnetoelectric effect is associated with the influence of the electric field on the magnetic anisotropy parameters of the investigated film.
