Abstract

Spin reorientation transitions have been detected in NdFe/sub 12-x/Mo/sub x/ by measuring the temperature dependence of the AC susceptibility in the temperature range from 4.2 to 300 K. No spin reorientation was traced in NdFe/sub 12-x/Mo/sub x/N/sub y/. Uniaxial anisotropy was detected in NdFe/sub 12-x/Mo/sub x/N/sub y/. The temperature dependence of the uniaxial anisotropy field of NdFe/sub 12-x/Mo/sub x/N/sub y/, and NdFe/sub 12-x/Mo/sub x/, has been measured in the temperature range from 170 to about 550 K by using the singular point detection (SPD) technique in a pulsed-field magnetometer. NdFe/sub 11/MoN/sub 1.3/ and NdFe/sub 10/Mo/sub 2/N/sub 0.9/ can be considered as possible materials permanent magnet fabrication, however, with less chance to compete with Nd/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B and/or Sm/sub 2/Fe/sub 17/N/sub yx/.
