Abstract

A magnetic characterization of the CO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">1-x</inf> Pt <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">x</inf> system with <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0\leqx\leq0.8</tex> has been made. The anisotropy field (H <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">A</inf> ) of both the hard magnetic phases, i.e. hexagonal at low Pt content and tetragonal around the equiatomic composition, has been measured by the singular point detection technique (SPD). The dependence of H <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">A</inf> on composition and temperature is given. The solid state transformation diagram at low Pt content has been completed by using the thermomagnetic analysis (TMA).
