Abstract

The paper discusses the adiabatic magnetization processes (magnetocaloric effect) in the region of magnetic phase transitions, based on known data about magnetic phase diagrams and the magnetocaloric effect of the rare-earth metals Gd and Dy. A correlation between an arrangement of lines of the magnetic phase transitions on (H, T) diagrams and a corresponding value of magnetocaloric effect were assumed.
