Abstract

In a longitudinal magnetic field, oscillations of the ultrasonic polarization parameters have been found for the propagation of shear waves along the tetragonal axis in superpure indium. A theoretical description has shown that the oscillations may be classified as a new phenomenon, which is conditioned, unlike the Pippard geometric oscillations, not only by the spatial dispersion, but also by the frequency one.
