Abstract

We have intensively studied the optical absorption spectra of Cu 2 O at 4.2 K and 1.5 K in an extended range of magnetic fields up to 25 T as image maps. Quasi-continuous data of the magnetic field dependence of the absorption peaks and their interaction properties reveal that the magnetic-field-driven mixing of the energy levels occurs intensively even in the lower range of magnetic fields.
