Abstract
Magnetic, magneto-optical properties and Auger depth profiling performed in NixY1-x amorphous films are reported. Kerr effect measurements were carried out at both film/air (f/a) and glass/film (f/g) interfaces. Anomalous magnetic surface effects on amorphous Ni0.91Y0.09 have been detected. We discuss these results and contrast them with those of CoxY1-x thin films.
