Abstract

Magnetization-induced second harmonic generation (MSHG) and spectroscopy of magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) are studied in CoCu magnetic granular films. The MSHG studies reveal the giant nonlinear magneto-optical Kerr effect (NOMOKE). The NOMOKE magnetic contrast and the angle of Kerr rotation of the second harmonic wave polarization exceed the corresponding MOKE parameters almost by two orders of magnitude.
