Abstract

The observed magnetic fields in nearby spiral galaxies are interpreted as the results of dynamo actions by theorists. But we find that the strengths of the magnetic filds are closely correlated with column densities of HI in nearby galaxies. The magnetic fields of galaxies are in magneto-gravitational equilibrium. The results directly refute to dynamo amplification mechanism and evidently suggest the magnetic fields of galaxies are of primordial origin.
