Abstract

AbstractThe theory of the cross‐polarization two‐dimensional homonuclear Hartmann‐Hahn experiment is introduced. The product operator formalism is used to develop expressions to explain the transfer of magnetization under the influence of the isotropic Hamiltonian. The various modifications of the HOHAHA/TOCSY experiment are presented. The MLEV‐17 pulse cycle for generation of the spin‐lock pulse is discussed in detail. The intensity of magnetization transfer is shown both mathematically and graphically to be dependent on the relationship mixing time 1/(2JAX). The HOHAHA experiment is also discussed in relation to the other spin‐lock experiments, ROESY and CAMELSPIN.
