Abstract

Spin-echo 19F NMR techniques were used to investigate the impurity-associated and host magnetizations of the Heisenberg antiferromagnet K 2Mn 1− x Ni x F 4 ( x = 0.02) in an external field along the c axis. The host sublattice magnetization appears to be higher than in undiluted K 2MnF 4 ( T N = 42.1 K), in contrast to analogous 3D systems. Up to 26 K, the temperature dependence of the host magnetization may be described in terms of spin-wave theory. The side resonances originating from sites near the impurity are also discussed.
