Abstract
Fe-films with Mn-overlayers were prepared by evaporation in a high vacuum system. The magnetic dipole moment of the iron film and the iron plus manganese film was measured “in situ”. The magnetic moment of the Fe-film decreased by about 3–4 μ B/surface atom when the Mn-overlayer was deposited.
