Abstract
We review the methods of studying the spin-lattice and magnetization relaxation at high magnetic fields taking as an example the results obtained for semimagnetic semiconductors. The role of phonons which cannot be described by the Debye approximation is shown. The different relaxation paths are discussed. The effect of relaxation in exchange coupled pairs is presented.
