Abstract

3He heat capacity of SmFeO3 single crystal was carried out from 0.4K to 10K. Magnetization was also checked from 2K to 300K. Magnetization fitting obtains a reasonable Θ=−2.16K, while no signature of magnetic phase transition can be found down to 0.4K from specific heat, showing |Θ/Tc|>5.33. Considering the exchange interactions between Sm3+ and Fe3+, Sm3+ spins are frustrated. This gives a new form of spin frustration.
