Abstract

The specific heat and magnetic susceptibility have been measured on high-quality single crystals of NiSb. NiSb is found to be a typical Pauli paramagnetic compound with an NiAs-type structure. The electronic specific heat coefficient is 2.60 mJ/K2mol, which is in good agreement with that obtained from the calculated density of states. The strong dHvA oscillation was observed at 60 mK in the field along [0 0 0 1], which consists of seven fundamental dHvA frequencies, and the largest frequency corresponds to an orbit with 0.82 A−2.
