Abstract

Magnetic foils as white beam π/2 flippers for polarised neutrons will be discussed. Their main advantage is the application for Larmor precession in strongly inclined precession regions as used in Larmor diffraction and especial in Spin Echo Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SESANS). Inclination angles of a few degrees in fields from mT up to hundreds of mT are achievable that are not possible with present conventional coils. The application in Larmor diffraction will be discussed and the application in SESANS will be explained in detail and supported by a simulated experiment.
