Abstract
Chitosan impregnated, polyacrylonitrile nonwoven textile formed from micrometer sized fibres (diameter 15 μm), was used for a newly developed analytical procedure named Magnetic Textile Solid Phase Extraction (MTSPE). This procedure was applied for fast preconcentration of synthetic acid food dyes from water solutions followed by their elution at high pH and subsequent spectrophotometric determination. The proposed method was applied for extraction of tartrazine, azorubine (carmoisine) and indigo carmine from water solutions with the dye content up to 200 μg/L. MTSPE was efficiently used in volumes up to 2 L.
