Abstract

An extensive investigation of the magnetic properties of polycrystalline YBCO is reported. A.c. and d.c. susceptibility measurements were carried out. The magnetization was measured at 4.2 K for H ranging from 0 kOe to 50 kOe. The time dependence of the magnetization was measured at various temperatures: an extremely fast decay was found. Such a behaviour was semi-quantitatively explained on the basis of the granular structure of YBCO.
