Abstract

We report inelastic neutron scattering measurements on CeSi 2 in the temperature range 5–135 K. The magnetic spectral response is decomposed into two broad inelastic structures centred at 25 and 48 meV, interpreted as crystal field transitions, and a quasielastic part with a residual width of 3.5 meV as T tends to 0 K.
