Abstract
The magnetic shielding effect of (BiPb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy (Bi 2223) plates connected by various ways was examined. Bi 2223 plates were prepared by the doctor blade method. The magnetic shielding effect of Bi 2223 plates jointed by press and normal metal is inferior to that of one body plate. The effect of overlapped plates is also inferior to that of one body plate, although the shielding effect is slightly improved with increasing the overlapped area. The inferiority of the magnetic shielding effect is caused by the leakage field coming through the gap or normal metal region of the plates.
