Abstract

The results of the present investigation fill a certain gap in our knowledge of the influence of methane on the ESR spectra of coal, offer the possibility of estimating the methane saturation of coal of different grades (except grade A) from the ESR spectral broadening after degasification, and allows the significance of the “PMC concentration” as an index of the tendency of a coal bed to ejection to be critically evaluated.
