Abstract

We present a scaling analysis of our EPR results in the Eu0.46Sr0.54S spin glass at three different frequencies. An attempt to scale our data using the conventional scaling theory of spin glasses leads to very large value for the crossover exponent Φ. This is taken as an indication that a different approach is necessary in order to give a proper description of the critical behaviour of these materials in strong applied magnetic fields. A scaling approach, recently proposed, based on the assumption of a critical field above which the transition is destroyed, can account for our results and provides the first evidence for the existence of such a field in spin glasses.
