Abstract
MRI is capable of demonstrating superb anatomic detail of the appendicular skeleton and articulations. Disorders of subcortical bone, cartilage, ligaments, and synovium are being evaluated by MRI. MRI should become an increasingly important diagnostic tool in a variety of articular disorders as technical improvements are made and clinical experience accumulates.
