Abstract
Thallium, a highly toxic trace element, being released into the environment by industrial mining has caused serious environmental pollution. Here, a magnetic Prussian Blue (PB) nanosorbent loading on sepiolite (PB/Fe3O4/SEP) was successfully synthesized for the deep treatment of Tl(I) based on its high adsorption capacity. The high adsorption capacity of up to 558 mg/g helps the nanosorbents efficient adsorption of trace Tl(I) in wastewater. Then the strong magnetic help convenient removal from wastewater. Moreover, its excellent anti-disturbance properties in a wide range of pH indicated that it is suitable for complex wastewater treatments. Overall, the magnetic nanocomposite with excellent adsorption properties and high interference resistance can be applied for emergency treatment in actual Tl(I) contaminated water.
