Abstract
Magnetic properties of polycrystalline Co-doped ZnO were investigated. Zn 1-x Co x O samples with x<0.2 remained paramagnetic down to 2 K, and no sign of ferromagnetism was observed. The high-temperature susceptibility data followed the Curie-Weiss law with negative Weiss temperatures. The antiferromagnetic coupling constant extracted was J/k B - 40 K. For a sample with larger x (∼0.25) a spin glass transition was observed.
