Abstract

We study the magnetic and electric properties of the U–Fe and U–Fe–N amorphous alloys produced by sputtering. The ferromagnetic correlation is enhanced in the U–Fe–N amorphous alloys. A large coercive force and negative temperature coefficient of resistivity (TCR) observed in the uranium-rich U–Fe–N amorphous alloy indicate the existence of the random anisotropy originated from the localized component of the 5f electrons.
