Abstract

Abstract We have studied the Fe x Al 1− x alloy system in the compositional range 0.695⩽ x ⩽0.85 using room temperature transmission Mossbauer spectroscopy. Measurements were made on samples in ribbon form produced by melt spinning with the aim of quenching the same cristallographic structure for all samples (A2). We analyze the evolution of magnetic structure with changes in composition. We consider the detailed nature of the FM—PM transition region in the FeAl phase diagram, at room temperature.
