Abstract

The saturation magnetization (at the peak field of 10 kOe) at temperature 15 K, the temperature dependence of DC magnetization (ZFC–FC) and low field AC susceptibility measurements have been reported for the Zn z Ti z CoCr x− z Fe 2− x− z O 4 spinels with x=0.60, 0.65, and 0.70. All the samples exhibit large coercivity at 15 K. The magnetic moments per formula unit found from magnetization measurements are in very good agreement with the magnetic moment values deduced from low temperature neutron diffraction data. The results have been ascribed to the thermally activated domain wall movement of ferrimagnetic arrangement of local canted spins (LCS).
